WEST ORANGE CENTENNIAL 1962

The is a 8mm film of the West Orange Centennial Parade along Main Street West Orange on May 20, 1962. The parade route began at Harrison Avenue and Eagle Rock Avenue at 1:30 PM and ended at Jenkins Playground on Valley Road. There was a reviewing stand in front of West Orange Town Hall. The parade featured 12 bands and 30 floats from various West Orange civic organizations and groups. It also included Miss Rheingold (beer), Mrs. New Jersey, Armed Forces, service clubs, fraternal organizations, and antique cars some of which can be seen in this 3 minute film. It was filmed by James Boyle and shows mostly Main Street locations. The parade ended at 4:30 PM on May 20, 1962 and the West Orange Parade Committee consisted of Russ Mayor, Chairman and Al Wagner and Charles Reifsnyder.
